After running in the Great South Run in 2012 for the Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust, I pretty much stopped running almost as soon as I crossed the finish line. Not through any reason other than it felt like I’d achieved my goal and didn’t have another target to aim for. I ran for a few weeks late 2013 but I didn’t have the same disire, sadly. However, I’ve started up again and progressing at a good pace. And to keep me focused I’ve decided to do the Great South Run again.
With inspiration from a friend, and my favourite football team, Southampton FC, I’ve chosen to support the Saints Foundation for 2014.
A much bigger target to aim for this year in both fitness and minimum needed to raise. I’d given myself well over a year when I did the same event in 2012 and now I have 6-7 months. Considering I find it hard at the best of times to have the get up and go, this will be a massive mission for me. And every time I think about it, makes me nervous at the thought of not being successful. However, I find I only achieve things when I set myself a realistic target, and 2012 is a great example of what I can achieve.
If you would like to help support me for this event, I’ve set up a Just Giving page where you can donate directly to the charity. Any amount is most totally appreciated.
On with the training…
